At our Sunday worship services, students from 5th through 8th grade sit together and make worship more enjoyable for themselves and others. Leadership of this group is provided by couples that have a tremendous heart and passion for instilling the Word of God to children in this crucial age.
The group has a blast together, as they start the service with the rest of the congregation by singing and praying with various degrees of enthusiasm. Then, they leave the auditorium under the direction of Pre-Teen adult leadership, and spend about an hour together beginning with a time of sharing what their week has been like and other good news. Specific focus is then directed to character and life-skills development. This includes training in how to understand and apply scripture to their own lives.
Another component involves development of Christian Community skills such as how to speak to groups of people without freaking out, leading songs without their mouths turning to cotton, and the like.
